The design team at Hogoso Studio has embraced the concept of subtractive design, focusing on highlighting human senses and experiences as the main elements of the space. Drawing inspiration from the minimalist art school, the office space is characterized by geometric shapes, predominantly vertical and horizontal lines, rectangles, and squares. This deliberate choice creates a sense of harmony and simplicity, allowing employees to find happiness and inspiration in their work.
The project covers a total area of 317 square meters and utilizes materials such as latex paint, epoxy floor paint, and acrylic. The use of these materials not only adds a modern touch but also ensures durability and ease of maintenance.
One of the key challenges faced during the design process was the issue of ceiling height. The original space was slightly depressed, as it was previously a garage. To overcome this challenge, the designer transformed two areas into sunken spaces, effectively solving the problem of ceiling height while also creating a cozy and inviting leisure area.
The office space features color blocks inspired by the works of Mondrian. Vertical and horizontal lines divide the space, revealing the music and rhythm of the outstanding blocks. This intentional design choice adds a sense of dynamism and energy to the environment, fostering creativity and collaboration among team members.
By eliminating anything that obstructs natural light and utilizing a predominantly white color scheme, the office space feels bright, clean, and minimalistic. The open layout promotes convenient and effective team communication, while the structured shapes partially obstruct views, adding a sense of intrigue and depth to the space.
Hogoso Studio's design concept revolves around simplicity and minimalism. The use of simple materials and appropriate proportions creates a sense of freedom and openness, allowing the designer's vision to shine through.
This exceptional design by Qinwei Hu and the Hogoso Studio team has been recognized for its creativity and ingenuity. It was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category in 2021. This prestigious award celebrates designs that incorporate best practices in art, science, design, and technology, contributing to improvements in quality of life.
Step into Hogoso Studio and experience a geometric oasis that redefines the traditional office space. Embrace the harmony of shapes, the abundance of natural light, and the simplicity of design, all aimed at inspiring creativity and innovation.
